Privacy Policy

I. Summary

JUU Ride believes in having a very strong and transparent policy in handling the data collected from the various users of the JUU Ride services.

Privacy Policy is the document, where we have provided details on what data we collect from users, how we use such provided data, what, how and whom we share the data, how we retain the data, how you can delete the account and what choices you have.

II. Introduction

JUU Ride, a platform developed by Agnibhu Technologies Private Limited is NOT an aggregator but a platform enabling the Drivers, whom we call as Service Providers to take their service to the Customers, whom we call Guests. JUU Ride works on the motto of One India – One eStand and is a concept initiated for the benefit of drivers, thus changes the lives of at least 5 Million families, touching lives of no less than 200 Million Indians. JUU Ride is a single platform to fulfil all types of contract carriage requirements for an individual, be it for goods transportation or passenger transport. JUU Ride brings the benefits of digital technology to Tier3 and lower towns to improve the liveability. JUU Ride brings the same kind of convenience to smaller towns that is enjoyed by the Metro and Tier1 & 2 cities. JUU Ride is not an aggregator or a transportation carrier, and does not employ any drivers. Guests can use the JUU Ride App to request transportation via their smartphone. Guests can choose from a variety of services and various Drivers available in his or her location. At the end of the ride, both the Service Provider and the Guest receives a copy of the fare receipt.

When you use JUU Ride, you trust us with your personal data. We’re committed to keeping that trust. This policy describes the personal data we collect, how it’s used and shared, and your choices regarding this data. We recommend that you read this along with our privacy overview, which highlights key points about our privacy practices.

III. Definitions, Meanings and Interpretations

JUU Ride: JUU Ride, a platform developed by Agnibhu Technologies Private Limited is NOT an aggregator but a platform enabling the Drivers, whom we call as Service Providers to take their service to the Customers, whom we call Guests.

Individual Service Providers: Drivers who provide, or submit applications to JUU Ride to provide, transportation of passenger(s) and/ or good(s), individually or through transportation companies called Agencies.

Guests: Individuals who request or receive transportation (Passenger or Goods), including those who receive transportation requested by another individual.

Agency: A business entity registered on JUU Ride Platform to provide, or submit applications to JUU Ride to provide, transportation of passengers and/ or goods.

Service Providers: Individual Service Providers and Agencies collectively are referred as Service Providers.

Agents: Individuals or business entities that provide service to Service Providers on behalf of JUU Ride.

Passengers: Individuals who are traveling in a vehicle booked through JUU Ride App.

Account: A relationship setup by Guests or Service Providers with JUU Ride.

Users: Individuals who use the JUU Ride developed mobile applications and/ or JUU Ride website.

Data: Any information related to users collected by JUU Ride. Data would include personal data and other information.

Personal Data: Means data about or relating to a natural person who is directly or indirectly identifiable, having regard to any characteristic, trait, attribute or any other feature of the identity of such natural person, whether online or offline, or any combination of such features with any other information, and shall include any inference drawn from such data for the purpose of profiling.

Data Collection: Process of gathering and measuring information.

Data Controller: Means a person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are to be processed.

Data Processor: Data Processor, in relation to personal data, means any person (other than an employee of the Data Controller) who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller.

Data Processing: Means an operation or set of operations performed on data, and may include operations such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation, alteration, retrieval, use, alignment or combination, indexing, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, restriction, erasure or destruction.

Privacy Policy: The term Policy or Privacy Policy used in this document is to be read as “Privacy Policy” of JUU Ride.

Cookies: Cookies are small text files that are stored on browsers or devices by websites, apps, online media and advertisements.

Payment Processors and Facilitators: A third party individual or entity appointed by JUU Ride to handle epayment transactions such as credit cardsdebit cards, NEFT, UPI and wallets.


IV. Overview

  1. Scope

    This Policy applies to all users of our apps and websites anywhere in the world, unless covered by a separate (Privacy) Policy by JUU Ride. This Policy specifically applies to:

    • Guests
    • Individual Service Providers
    • Agencies
    • Agents

    This Policy also governs JUU Ride’s collections of other personal data in connection with JUU Ride’s services. We may collect other personal data in connection with our mapping technology and features.

    All those subject to this policy is referred to as “users” in this policy.

    Our data practices are subject to applicable laws in the places in which we operate. This means that we engage in the practices described in this policy in a particular country or region only if permitted under the laws of those places. Please contact us here or through the addresses below with any questions regarding our practices in a particular country or region.

  2. Data controller and transfer

    Agnibhu Technologies Private Limited is the data controller for the personal data collected in connection with use of JUU Ride services in India. We process personal and user data within India.

V. What Data We Collect

JUU Ride collects:

  • Data provided by users to JUU Ride, such as during account creation
  • Data created during use of our services, such as location, app usage and device data

The following data is collected by or on behalf of JUU Ride:

  1. Data provided by users. This includes:
    • Guests:
      • User Profile: We collect data when users create or update their JUU Ride accounts. This may include their name, email, phone number and sex. For more information, please see the section titled “How we use the collected data”.
      • User Content: We collect the information that users submit when they contact JUU Ride customer support, provide ratings or compliments for other users or otherwise contact JUU Ride. This may include feedback, photographs or other recordings collected by guests.
      • In case user use their account to book a ride for someone else from their contact list using the Services, we will be collecting and storing such contact information.
    • Individual Service Providers:
      • User Profile: We collect data when users create or update their JUU Ride accounts. This may include their name, email, phone number, sex, address, profile picture, bank account details, government identification documents, including driver’s license number and images, birthdate, signature and photo. This also includes vehicle or insurance information of drivers. We may use the photos submitted by drivers to verify their identities, such as through facial recognition technologies. For more information, please see the section titled “How we use the collected data”.
      • Background check and identity verification: We collect background check and identity verification information for drivers. This may include information such as driver history or criminal record (where permitted by law), and right to work. This information may be collected by an authorized vendor on JUU Ride’s behalf.
      • User Content: We collect the information that users submit when they contact JUU Ride customer support, provide ratings or compliments for other users, or otherwise contact JUU Ride. This may include feedback, photographs or other recordings collected by Individual Service Providers.
    • Agencies:
      • User Profile: We collect data when users create or update their JUU Ride accounts. This may include their name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, bank account details, government identification documents, signature and photo. This also includes vehicle or insurance information of drivers. For more information, please see the section titled “How we use the collected data”.
      • User Content: We collect the information that users submit when they contact JUU Ride customer support, provide ratings or compliments for other users or otherwise contact JUU Ride. This may include feedback, photographs or other recordings collected by users.
    • Agents:
      • User Profile: We collect data when users create or update their JUU Ride accounts. This may include their name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, bank account details, government identification documents. For more information, please see the section titled “How we use the collected data”.
  2. Data created during use of our services. This includes:
    • Location Data: We collect precise or approximate location data from a user’s mobile device. JUU Ride collects this data when the JUU Ride App is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app open but not on-screen) of their mobile device. In addition, the location data collected from a driver during a trip will be linked to the guests account for purposes of receipt generation, customer support, fraud detection, insurance and litigation.
    • Transaction Information: We collect transaction information related to the use of our services, including the type of services requested or provided, order details, date and time the service was provided, amount charged, distance travelled and payment method. Additionally, if someone uses your Promo Code, we may associate your name with that person.
    • Usage Data: We collect data about how users interact with our services. This includes data such as access dates and time, app features or pages viewed, app crashes and other system activity, type of browser and third-party sites, or services used before interacting with our services. In some cases, we collect this data through cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tracking technologies that create and maintain unique identifiers.     • Device Data: We may collect data about the devices used to access our services, including the hardware models, device IP address, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers, serial numbers, device motion data and mobile network data.
    • Communications Data: We enable users to communicate with each other and JUU Ride through JUU Ride’s mobile apps and websites. For example, we enable Service Providers and Guests, to call each other (generally without disclosing the telephone numbers to each other). To provide this service, JUU Ride receives some data regarding the calls or other communications, including the date and time of the communications and the content of the communications. JUU Ride may also use this data for customer support services (including to resolve disputes between users), for safety and security purposes, to improve our products and services, and for analytics.
  3. Data from other sources. This includes:
    • User feedback, such as ratings or compliments.
    • Users participating in our referral programs. For example, when a user refers another person, we receive the referred person’s personal data from that user.
    • JUU Ride account owners who request services for or on behalf of other users, or who enable such users to request or receive services through their accounts.
    • Users or others providing information in connection with claims or disputes.
    • JUU Ride business partners through which users create or access their JUU Ride account, such as payment providers and social media services.
    • Insurance, vehicle, or financial services providers for drivers and/ or agencies.
    • Partner transportation companies (for drivers who use our services through an account associated with such a company).
    • Publicly available sources.
    • Marketing service providers.

VI. How We Collect Data

JUU Ride collects data, including personal data, through various means as described below:

  • Through JUU Ride App

    We collect the user data when user uses the JUU Ride services including account creation, provides the star rating, raises a support ticket, raises a complaint, requests for a ride and/ or any such interaction(s) with the JUU Ride app.

  • Through Device permissions

    We collect the location data and other device related data like device id, device make and model, device IP etc., after getting the prior permission from user.

  • Through Survey(s)

    We may conduct user survey to understand various aspects of user requirements, feedbacks about our services and/ or any such interaction(s).

  • Through Marketing Service Providers

    We may collect data from Marketing service providers as part of our marketing campaigns.

  • Through Publicly available sources

    We may collect data about user through publicly available information sources.

  • Through our Partners

    We may collect data from our partners, who in turn may have collected the information as per their own policies.

Collection of data may also include all those data, in methods and means which is mentioned, not necessarily here under this section but, anywhere else also in this document.

VII. How we Use the Collected Data

JUU Ride collects and uses data to enable reliable and convenient transportation and delivery of services. JUU Ride shall also use the data so collected for the purpose of, to enhance the safety and security of our users and services, for customer support, for research and development, to enable communications between users, to send marketing and non-marketing communications to users and in connection with legal proceedings. JUU Ride may combine the data collected from above sources with other data in its possession. The details of usage are provided below:

  1. Reliable and convenient transportation and delivery of services.

    JUU Ride uses the collected data to provide, personalize, maintain, and improve products and services. This includes using the data to:

    • Create and update users’ account.
    • Verify Service Provider’s identity, background history and eligibility to work.
    • Enable transportation, deliveries and other services.
    • Offer, process, or facilitate payments for our services.
    • Track and share the progress of rides or deliveries.
    • In case you user uses there account to book a ride for someone else from their contact list  then we use the contact information to share the ride details with that selected contact.
    • Enable features that allow users to share information with other people, such as, when guests submit a compliment about a driver, when guest provide feedback for a driver, refer a friend to JUU Ride or share Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) and location with their contacts.
    • Enable features to personalize users’ JUU Ride account, such as, creating bookmarks for favourite places, and to enable quick access to previous destinations. Please see the section of this policy titled “Choice and transparency” to learn how to object to this use of personal data.
    • Perform internal operations necessary to provide our services, including troubleshooting of software bugs and operational problems; to conduct data analysis, testing, and research; and to monitor and analyse usage and activity trends.
  2. Safety and security.

    We use personal data to help maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our services and users. This includes:

    • Screening Guests, Drivers and Agencies before enabling their use of our services and at subsequent intervals, including through reviews of background checks, where permitted by law, to help prevent use of our services by unsafe drivers and/ or guests.
    • Using data from Drivers to help identify unsafe driving behaviour such as speeding or harsh braking and acceleration, and to inform them of safer driving practices.
    • Using information derived from driver’s driving license photos, and other photos submitted to JUU Ride, for safety and security purposes. This includes JUU Ride’s Real-Time ID check feature, which prompts drivers to share a selfie before starting the ride to help ensure that the driver using the app matches the JUU Ride account we have on file. This also includes comparing photographs that we have on file against photographs (i) of other users to prevent identity-borrowing, and (ii) from public databases to verify user identity.
    • Using device, location, profile, usage, and other data to prevent, detect, and combat fraud or unsafe activities.
    • Using user ratings and feedback to encourage compliance with our guidelines and as grounds for deactivating drivers with low ratings or who otherwise violated such guidelines.
  3. Customer support.

    JUU Ride uses the collected information (including recordings of customer support calls with policy to and the consent of the user) to provide customer support, including to:

    • Direct questions to the appropriate customer support person
    • Investigate and address user concerns
    • Monitor and improve our customer support responses and processes
  4. Research and development.

    We may use the data collected, for testing, research, analysis, product development and machine learning to improve the user experience. This helps us to improve and enhance the safety and security of our services, improve our ability to prevent the use of our services for illegal or improper purposes, develop new features and products, and facilitate insurance and finance solutions in connection with our services.

  5. Enabling communications between users.

    For example, a driver may call a guest to confirm the pickup location, guest may contact a driver to retrieve the lost item.

  6. Marketing.

    We may use the collected data to market our services to our users. This includes sending user communications about JUU Ride services, features, promotions, sweepstakes, studies, surveys, news, updates and events.

    Although we may send user communications about JUU Ride partners’ products and services, we do not sell users’ personal data to, or share it with, such partners or others for purposes of their own direct marketing or advertising, except with users’ consent.

    We may use the collected data to personalize the marketing communications (including advertisements) that we send, including based on user location, past use of JUU Ride’s services, and user preferences and settings.

  7. Non-marketing communications.

    JUU Ride may use the collected data to generate and provide users with receipts; inform them of changes to our Terms and Conditions, Services or Policies; or send other communications that aren’t for the purpose of marketing the services or products of JUU Ride or its partners.

  8. Legal proceedings and requirements.

    We may use the collected personal data to investigate or address, claims or disputes relating to use of JUU Ride’s services, or as otherwise allowed by applicable law, or as requested by regulators, government entities and official enquiries.

  9. Automated decision-making.

    We use personal data to make automated decisions relating to use of our services. This includes:

  10. Enabling dynamic pricing for JUU Ride usage charges, in which the price of usage of platform is determined based on varying factors such as the estimated time and distance, the predicted route, estimated traffic, and the number of ride request on JUU Ride at a given moment.
  11. Determining driver ratings, and deactivating drivers, guests with low ratings. Please also see the section below titled “Ratings look-up” for further information.
  12. Deactivating users who are identified as having engaged in fraud or activities that may otherwise harm JUU Ride, its users, and others. In some cases, such as, when a user is determined to be abusing JUU Ride’s referral program, such behaviour may result in automatic deactivation.
  13. Using driver location information, and communications between guests and drivers, to identify cancellation fees earned or induced through fraud. For example, if we determine by using such information, that a driver is delaying a rider pickup in order to induce a cancellation, we will not charge the guest a cancellation fee and will charge such amount as a fee on driver. To object on such fee, please contact JUU Ride customer support.

VIII. Cookies, Third Party and Third-party Technologies

JUU Ride and its partners use cookies and other identification technologies on our apps, websites, emails, and online ads.

JUU Ride uses cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:

  • Authenticating users
  • Remembering user preferences and settings
  • Determining the popularity of content
  • Delivering and measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns
  • Analyzing site traffic and trends, and generally understanding the online behaviours and interests of people who interact with our services

We may also allow others to provide audience measurement and analytics services for us, to serve advertisements on our behalf across the internet, and to track and report on the performance of those advertisements. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, SDKs and other technologies to identify the devices used by visitors to visit our websites, as well as when they visit other online sites and services.

IX. Data Sharing and Disclosure

JUU Ride does not sell or share user personal data with third parties for their direct marketing, except with users’ consent.

Some of JUU Ride’s products, services and features require that we share data with other users or at user’s request. We may also share data with our affiliates, subsidiaries and partners, for legal reasons or in connection with claims or disputes.

Policy of Data Sharing

  • JUU Ride may share the collected data including the data relating to:
    • Guest’s name, rating and pickup and/ or drop off locations with Drivers.
    • We may also share ratings and feedback, or other information to the extent required by law.
    • For Service providers, we may share data with the Guest(s) including name and photo; vehicle make, model and vehicle photo; location (before and during trip); average rating provided by users; total number of trips; length of use of the JUU Ride app; contact information (depending upon applicable laws); and driver ratings including compliments and other feedback submitted by past users. We also provide Guests with receipts containing information such as breakdown of amounts charged, Driver first name, photo, route map and such other information required on invoices.
    • For those who participate in JUU Ride’s referral program, we share certain personal data of referred users, such as trip count, with the user who referred them, to the extent relevant to determining the referral bonus.
  • JUU Ride may share the collected data, on user’s request including the sharing of data with:
    • Other people. For example, we share a user’s ETA and location with a friend when requested by that user.
    • JUU Ride business partners. For example, if a user requests a service through a partnership or promotional offering made by a third party, JUU Ride may share certain data with those third parties. This may include, for example, other services, platforms, apps or websites that integrate with our APIs; vehicle suppliers or services; those with an API or service with which we integrate; or restaurant partners or other JUU Ride business partners and their users in connection with promotions, contests or specialized services.
  • JUU Ride may share the collected data, with the general public for:

    Questions or comments from users submitted through public forums such as JUU Ride blogs and JUU Ride social media pages may be viewable by the public, including any personal data included in the questions or comments submitted by a user.

  • JUU Ride shall share the collected data, with JUU Ride account owner when:

    User requests transportation or places an order using an account owned by another party, we shall share their order or trip information, including real-time location data, with the owner of that account. This occurs, for example, when:

    • A driver uses an account owned by or associated with a JUU Ride partner transportation company (Agency).
    • A guest takes a trip arranged by a friend or another JUU Ride account holder.
  • JUU Ride may share the collected data, with JUU Ride subsidiaries, affiliates and business partners.

    We may share data with our subsidiaries and affiliates to help us provide our services, or conduct data processing on our behalf.

    JUU Ride provides or share the data to vendors, consultants, marketing partners, research firms and other service providers or business partners. These may or shall include:

    • Payment processors and facilitators
    • Background check and identity verification providers (Drivers only)
    • Cloud storage providers
    • Marketing partners and marketing platform providers, including social media advertising services
    • Data analytics providers
    • Research partners, including those performing surveys or research projects in partnership with JUU Ride or on JUU Ride’s behalf
    • Vendors that assist JUU Ride to enhance the safety and security of its apps
    • Consultants, lawyers, accountants and other professional service providers
    • Insurance and financing partners
  • JUU Ride may share the collected data, in the event of a dispute or for legal reasons:

    JUU Ride may share users’ personal data if we believe it’s required by applicable law, regulation, operating license or agreement, legal process or governmental request, or where the disclosure is otherwise appropriate due to safety or similar concerns. This includes sharing personal data with law enforcement officials, public health officials, other government authorities, airports (if required by the airport authorities as a condition of operating on airport property), or other third parties as necessary to enforce our Terms and Conditions of Service, User Agreements or other policies; to protect JUU Ride’s rights or property, safety, or property of others; or in the event of a claim or dispute relating to the use of our services.

    In case of data request(s) from law enforcement authority or government, unless we are prohibited by law from doing so, or in exceptional circumstances such as emergencies or in case of an appropriate court order or other appropriate process established by law, that prohibits the notice to user, we will notify the user before producing their information to law enforcement authority.

    This also includes sharing personal data with others in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by or into another company.

  • JUU Ride may share the collected data, other than policy frame, with user’s consent

    JUU Ride may share a user’s collected data other than as described in this policy, if JUU Ride notify /ies and the user consents to the sharing.

X. Account Data Retention, Deletion and Non-deletion of Account

JUU Ride retains user profile, transaction and other personal data as long as a user maintains their JUU Ride account.

JUU Ride may retain certain user data after receiving an account deletion request if necessary, such as to comply with legal requirements.

JUU Ride retains user profile, transaction and other information as long as a user maintains their JUU Ride account. For Service Providers and Agency, JUU Ride also retains vehicle and background check information (to the extent permitted by law) for as long as they maintain their JUU Ride account.

Users may request deletion of their account at any time through JUU Ride’s Customer Support Centre. Following such requests, JUU Ride deletes the account while the data shall be deleted from the JUU Ride records after the completion of purposes of JUU Ride needs, regulatory, tax, insurance, litigation or other legal requirements. For example, JUU Ride retains location, device and usage data for these purposes for a minimum of 7 years; while it retains such data, it may also use it for purposes of safety, security, fraud prevention and detection, and research and development.

In certain circumstances, JUU Ride may be unable to delete an user’s account, such as, if there’s an outstanding credit on the account or an unresolved claim or dispute. Upon resolution of the issue preventing deletion, JUU Ride will delete the account as described above.

JUU Ride may also retain certain information if necessary, for purposes of safety, security and fraud prevention. For example, if JUU Ride deactivates an user’s account because of unsafe behaviour or security incidents, JUU Ride may retain certain information about that account to prevent that user from opening a new JUU Ride account in the future.

XI. Grounds for Processing

We collect and use personal data only where we have one or more lawful grounds for doing so.

These include processing user personal data to provide requested services and features, for purposes of JUU Ride’s legitimate interests or those of other parties, to fulfil our legal obligations, or based on consent. Also, such other grounds may vary depending on where our users are located, but generally include processing personal data. Grounds for processing any collected data, including personal data, is as mentioned here under:

  • To provide requested services and features

    In order to provide our services, we must collect and use certain personal data. This includes:

    • User profile data, which we use to establish and maintain user accounts; verify user identity; communicate with users about their trips, orders and accounts; and enable users to make payments or receive earnings
    • Background trip information, which is used to verify an applicant’s eligibility to be a Driver or Agency
    • Driver location data, which we use to track trips and assist with navigation
    • Usage data, which is necessary to maintain, optimize, and enhance JUU Ride’s services, including, to connect Guests and Drivers, and calculate costs of trips
    • Transaction information
    • Information relating to customer support
  • For purposes of the legitimate interests of JUU Ride or other parties
    • This includes using personal data to maintain and enhance our users’ safety and security. For example, we use personal data to prevent use of our services by users who have engaged in inappropriate or dangerous behaviour, such as, by retaining data of banned users to prevent their use of JUU Ride apps.
    • This also includes purposes such as combating fraud; improving our services, direct marketing, research and development; and enforcing JUU Ride’s Terms and Conditions of Service.
    • Also, it includes using personal data to the extent necessary for the interests of other people or the general public, such as in connection with legal or insurance claims, and to protect the rights and safety of others.
  • To fulfil JUU Ride’s legal obligations and comply with local laws
    • JUU Ride for fulfilling the legal obligations and/ or to comply with local laws, collects and retains the data. For example, JUU Ride is subject to laws and regulations in many cities and countries that require it to collect and retain data about our users’ trips, and to provide copies of such data to the government or other authorities.
    • JUU Ride may also share data with law enforcement authority(ies) regarding criminal acts or threats to public safety, or requests by third parties pursuant to legal processes as mentioned in section IX.
  • With consent
    • JUU Ride may collect, apart from the data so collected and as mentioned above, with users’ consent, and use such data. For example, we may collect data through voluntary surveys. Responses to such surveys are collected on the basis of consent and will be deleted once no longer necessary for the purposes collected.
    • A user who has provided consent for collection or use of their data, can revoke the consent at any time. However, the user, if revokes the consent, will not be able to use any such service or feature that requires collection or usage of such data.

XII. Choice and Transparency

JUU Ride enables users to access and control the data that it collects. JUU Ride also enables users to request access to, or copies of their data, changes or updates to their accounts, deletion of their accounts, or that JUU Ride restrict its processing of user personal data. The same are as mentioned here under:

    1. Privacy settings

      JUU Ride app gives users the ability to set or update their location-sharing preferences and their preferences for receiving mobile notifications from JUU Ride. Information about these settings, how to set or change these settings, and the effect of turning off these settings is described below:

      • Location data

        JUU Ride uses guests’ device location services to make it possible to get a ride whenever they need one. Location data is needed for our services, including pickup, navigation and customer support.

      • Share live location

        Users who have enabled JUU Ride to collect location data from their mobile device, also enable JUU Ride to share their location with their Service Provider from the time the ride is requested, to the start of the trip. This can help improve pickup experience for both Drivers and Guests, particularly in crowded areas. Also, it enables JUU Ride to share your live ride location based on your instruction with any other person.

      • Emergency Data Sharing

        Guests who have enabled JUU Ride to collect location data from their mobile device may also enable the Emergency Data Sharing feature (SOS), that shares data with emergency services like police, fire and ambulance services. Such data includes approximate location at the time the emergency call was placed; the car’s make, model, colour and license plate information; the Guests’ name and mobile number; pickup and drop off locations; and the Driver’s name.

    2. 2. Device permissions

      Most mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have defined certain types of device data that apps cannot access without the device owner’s permission, and these platforms have different methods for how that permission can be obtained. Accordingly, the permissions are requested at the time of installation of JUU Ride app and while doing so, iOS devices notify users the first time the JUU Ride app requests permission to access certain types of data and gives users the option to grant or refuse permission. Likewise, Android devices notify users of the permissions that the JUU Ride app seeks before their first use of the app, and use of the app constitutes a grant of such permission. Any changes made in the device settings will have its direct impact on the usage of JUU Ride App.

    3. 3. Ratings look-up

      After every trip, Drivers and Guests are able to rate each other on a scale from 1 to 5. An average of those ratings is associated with a user’s account and is displayed to other users for whom they provide or receive services. For example, Guest ratings are available to Service Providers from whom they request transportation, and Service Provider ratings are available to their Guests.

      This 2-way system holds everyone accountable for their behaviour. Accountability helps create a respectful, safe environment for Service Providers and Guests. Guests can see their average rating in the main menu of the JUU Ride app. Service Providers can see their average rating after tapping their profile photo in the JUU Ride Driver app.

    4. 4. Marketing opt-outs

      Users may opt out of receiving emails and SMS messages from JUU Ride by opting out in the user profile section within the JUU Ride App.

    5. 5. User data requests

      JUU Ride provides users with a variety of ways to learn about, control, and submit questions and comments about JUU Ride’s handling of their data. To make a request, please follow the below:

      • Accessing data: Users can ask for an explanation of the usage of data we collect from them.
      • Changing or updating data: Users can edit name, email address, and photo associated with their account through the Settings menu in JUU Ride app. They may also ask JUU Ride to change or update their data, including if they believe such data is inaccurate or incomplete.
      • Deleting account: Users may request deletion of their account at any time through the JUU Ride Customer Support centre.
      • Objections, restrictions, and complaints: Users may request that we stop using all or some of their personal data, or that we limit our use of their data through JUU Ride Customer Support centre. JUU Ride may continue to process data after such objection or request to the extent required or permitted by law.

XIII. Updates to this Policy

We may occasionally update this Policy. If we make any changes or further update, we will notify users in advance of the changes through the JUU Ride app or through other means, such as email, SMS or otherwise. We encourage users to periodically review this policy for the latest information on our privacy practices. After such policy change updation, use of our services by users will be understood as consent to the updates to the extent permitted by law.
